Tech writing internship

I am happy to report that I have secured an internship for next semester where I will be able to employ what I have learned in this class. The internship is at a small marketing agency in Wisconsin, not far from my home, where I will write content for a variety of clients.

I will work directly with the head content writer on writing blogs, researching SEO (search engine optimization) and interacting with clients to interview them for blog content.

I think what I will really bring to this internship is the story telling aspect of technical writing. We have learned that tech writers can create documents about many subjects by telling the story of that subject. In this internship I will be asked to write blog posts for many different clients and industries, and this will take research and careful crafting. The objective of creating online content on a set schedule will ensure that new content is available to be "found" organically through searches related to the industry, clients, and anything else related to what I will be writing about.

It has always been my career goal to become a content writer in a marketing/advertising agency, and I think with what I have learned in this class I will be more prepared to succeed in this career.
